Arsenic And Old Lace
October 12 - November 13
Comedy by Joseph Kesselring
In an effort to help elderly gentlemen find a peaceful and final resting place, the kindly but quirky Brewster sisters, Martha and Abby, serve these lonely creatures a lethal glass of their home made Elderberry wine, and bury them in the cellar. Add to this pair of do-gooders three nephews: Teddy who thinks hes Teddy Roosevelt; Jonathan who bears an uncanny resemblance to Boris Karloff; and Mortimer who seems sane enough and is engaged to the ministers daughter. One of the most enduring and hilarious comedies in American theatre, this play was also made into a highly successful Frank Capra film starring Cary Grant.
