CASTING THE CIRCLE Have the circle drawn and candles at the corners. We stay outside the circle while our Maiden Brooke begins erecting it. BROOKE: [Take a wand and concentrate your power through it as you visualize a circle of fire being erected where you point and walk around the circle. The group needs to also visualize this. After closing the circle you will cut a door for us to enter and say]: "The circle is now cast, enter with perfect love and perfect trust in your hearts" [Seal the doorway and we proceed] CROW: [Ring bell 3 times] ENIGMAA: "Be it known that the circle is about to be cast and let none be here but of their own free will. SILVERWINGS: [lights east candle] "Here do I bring the element of air into this circle to cleanse it with the breath of life, bringing patience and mental harmony within."
JIMMY: [lights south candle] "Here do I bring the element of fire into this circle to fill it with it's protective flame, bringing passion and creativity within"
KARA: [lights west candle] "Here do I bring the element of water into this circle to wash away all negativity, bringing transformation, love and friendship within"
MARK: [lights north candle] "Here do I bring the element of earth into this circle to ground it, bringing us stability, strength of purpose and material gain within"
CROW: [faces coven] Here do I bring the element of Spirit into this circle, only those of positive nature may enter as negativity is not welcome within this sacred space. [rings bell 3 times] CROW: [places point of anthame in salt] "As salt is life, let it purify us in all ways we may use it. Let us cleanse our bodies and spirits as we dedicate ourselves in these rites to the God and Goddess" ENIGMAA: [I take up salt dish and use my anthame to drop 3 portions of the salt into the water in the chalice I then stir the salted water with anthame] and say "Let this sacred salt drive out any impurities in this water, that we may use it throughout these rites." CROW: [places anthame in chalice I am holding] "As the God is to the anthame" ENIGMAA: "The Goddess is to the Chalice" BOTH: "Together they are one" CROW: takes up incense and I pour some of the blessed water into smaller bowl. We walk clockwise around the circle I sprinkle and Crow passes the incense along the circle line. [Return to altar. Put down tools] CROW: [drop a pinch of salt into oil and stir with finger. Anoint ENIGMAA with Celtic cross on forehead and pentagram on chest] "I consecrate thee in the name of the God and Goddess bidding you welcome to this their temple." [Kiss on cheek] ENIGMAA: [Anoint CROW with Celtic cross on forehead and pentagram on chest] "I consecrate thee in the name of the God and Goddess bidding you welcome to this their temple." [Kiss on cheek] CROW: [anoints maiden with Celtic cross on forehead] "I consecrate thee in the name of the God and bid you welcome to this his temple." [Kiss on cheek] ENIGMAA: [anoints maiden with pentagram on chest] "I consecrate thee in the name of the Goddess and bid you welcome to this her temple." [Kiss on other cheek] BROOKE: [Maiden anoints each member with pentagram on forehead and states] "Welcome to our circle may you be blessed by the God and Goddess" [Kiss on cheek]
